Oops, I got real busy/ Occupée

Heyyy, so as soon as I got this thing going, I was swamped. Not that I am going to be less swamped now, but I will do my best. I only have a month left of school. A MONTH. That is ridiculous. Springtime is so good. One really great thing about campus is that there are like a hundred different kinds of trees. My roommate, who is allergic to the world, would say that that is the worst thing about campus. But coming from a place where there are only like four kinds of trees, it is really exciting to me. And springtime means getting excited about vegetables. I am in love with the farmer's market. There are all the best delicious things and also hundreds of babies. Okay, not hundreds.

My veggie co-op bag this week was super exciting. We got asparagus! And baby greens! And green tomatoes! All of my adorable New England friends are soon going to discover fried green tomatoes thanks to me. I have actually never made them before. To be continued.

Alas, the asparagus and baby greens are already in my tummy...last night I made farfalle with lemon, garlic, and parmesan and threw those veggies in. The trick to that was using an absurd amount of garlic. Like 5 or 6 cloves. Mmm....

Oh and I made salted caramel macarons for a French dinner a couple weeks ago. They were just incredible. The recipe for those is here though I will warn you that you must commit pretty much an entire afternoon to baking in order to make them. However, I now know how to make homemade caramel, and it is super easy and the most delicious thing in the world. I don't even like caramel that much, but the homemade stuff is just so good.

Good day to you/ Bonjour!

Alright, so here it is. The blog. Yeah, maybe it's a food blog disguised as something else. You can decide that for yourself. I didn't mention in the headlining info thing (because they didn't give me enough room) that this is also a dual-language blog, so every entry will be in English, then French. They won't be exactly the same because that wouldn't be any fun. But they will be along the same lines. My French isn't super great right now...it's been a while since I was in France. But the French readers will just have to forgive me.

Today I took some photos of some recent relief prints of mine. I did a pretty bad job with the photos, and I think I need to do some of them over. However, here are a few that are kind of acceptable. You'll get the idea anyway. I submitted a few of them to our literary magazine, The Greenleaf Review.
